Synopsis

Album Description
Ceiling Sun Letters' is a hazy powerful rock album that recalls the NEW YORK DOLLS, GRANDADDY, LOU REED, LOOSE FUR, THE TRIFFIDS and WILCO. From the all-in intro of the storming opener Ashes, through the delicate mandolin splashes on Advice to Beginners, to the psychic folk thunderstorm of Free to Go; it immediately becomes apparent that writer, author (of acclaimed biographies of GRAM PARSONS and BILLY THORPE) and musician JASON WALKER has delivered a different album. So why did it take the one of Sydney's most renown and respected performers five years to write, record and release the dazzling follow-up to Ashes & Wine? It turns out he was living in a bleak house. "Ceiling Sun Letters is a drug album, there's no doubt about that" admits Walker. "During the writing and recording of it, I was dominated by a fear of death and the nervous energy that followed my two neardeath experiences... it's like the bastard son I kept in a box for 19 years."
