Synopsis

Product Description
Jason DEBO is a four-piece rock outfit fronted by a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who brings a quirky, cerebral and melodic yet hard-hitting edge to garage-rock. DEBO's debut album is Eucalyptus Fields of Sugar Cane. DEBO cites influences as diverse as Wilco, John Lennon, Foo Fighters, Elvis Costello and Elliot Smith... sensitive songwriters all. His debut record reminds fans of great pop-rock bands of the past that really cared about being able to play live. Take any three-minute, foot stomping, guitar thumping, and melody laden pop song. Now give it a 21st century alternative twist with the deft use of dissonance and unusual chord patterns, droning middle tones, big step melodies, ironic, sardonic lyric lines and that beautiful lead vocal vibrato. Multi-part vocal harmonies? -- yes, it's true -- and what a tasty addition they are. The entire production is dry and spare but so well designed and interesting, present and clear. The major-7th passages make you wanna lay back in a stuffed chair. The unconventional chord combinations make you wonder what planet you're on. The songs tell stories -- about looking for love, meaning, direction. Finally, moving past all the stories, there's a parade.
