"I had the good fortune to go to school in chicago and see these two play several times at small venues. They were absolutely awesome. The songwriting is really deep and moody. Jason has a unique and interesting voice, and his voiceover harmonies on this album are tight. His guitar playing doesn't show off, but carries interesting chord structures. And Alison's plays a vigorous cello counterpart to his harmony. She doesn't just sit in the background and provide atmosphere. As a musician and songwriter, I have to credit them as a real influence to my own style. It's amazing how full they sound. I wish more people listened to good music like this. If you're considering it, you should really buy this album."

"Jason and Alison's _Woodshed_ is a real gem in a world of sound alike music. Powerful melodies, insightful lyrics presented with Jason's guitar and Alison's lovely cello. No percussion, no hype. Just soulful bare and beautiful music. Wish they had made more albums like this. The closest you can get to this would be Bob Mould's _Workbook_Get it! You will thank me later."

"If you love acoustic music but are sick of the cliches, give this one a listen. "Letter from Florence", "Flag", "Hollow" - amazing songs. J & A went on to form Verbow (worth checking out, too)."

"I came across this cd in a marked down box at a used cd store. I'm so glad that I took the time to listen to Jason & Allison and you should too! Jason's lyrics and vocals sink deep into the heart and Allison's cello plays out every emotion a human can feel. This is a true gem! It is worth so much more than I paid."
