Synopsis

Album Description
Ugetsufu means "music of the rain and of the moon." The title was chosen by composer Takashi Yoshimatsu as a poetic evocation of the combination of the two traditional Japanese instruments, the shakuhachi (bamboo flute) and the koto (a thirteen-string zither). Here, the uncontested master of the shakuhachi, Kuniyoshi Sugawara, plays works of rare beauty.
