"Jane Ira Bloom's CD is an exhilarating blend of free-form and melodic jazz, buoyed by her soaring soprano sax and Fred Hersch's multihued piano work. Any discriminating listener should be able to appreciate the wit and inventiveness of such cuts as "Slalom" and "Jazz from Mars," the melting beauty of "Ice Dancing" and her cover of "I Loves You Porgy," or the percussive excitement and good humor of "Drums Like Dancing." Jane Ira Bloom deserves to be far better known than she is; now that this CD is back in print, perhaps that will happen."
