"I first heard James Last on KCET, a PBS TV station in L.A. Aug. 2000. I was enthralled by the combination of showmanship and musical excellence...truly fun to watch. I immediately went in search of an album and selected this one. It brings back the excitement of their live show and is wonderful listening. It could only be more enjoyable on video. This would be a valuable addition to any collection."

"I was fortunate to see James Last for the first time in my life, last November for two concerts in Germany, and this CD is a perfect memento of the fabulous time that I had. I remember so vividly the "Introduction" piece, the orchestra behind a curtain, and only their shadows visible to us in the audience. As for the program itself, the brass was bold and the STRINGS, complete perfection! I loved the mixture of old standards from Hansi, updated for today's audiences, such melodies as "Roses from the South" and "Mornings at Seven". Mixed in are wonderful songs like "Titanic", "Reach Out" and others. What make this artist so special for the listener are the mixtures of instruments: brass, strings and guitars, as exemplified on "Have you Ever Really Loved a Woman". This is the second of the "Live Series" done by Hansi, and for sure, if you enjoy traditional instrumental music, not akin to the "New Age" music, you'll LOVE this album, and you'll love the many, many different offerings from James Last, as well!"

"This concert was undoubtably the finest I ever heard. I am immensely impressed with the versatility of the James Last Orchestra. I became familiar with his music through PBS. His string section at times reminded me of the Mantovanni sound. His horn section could be bold and crisp and then again be so smooth that I almost forgot they were horns. The two acordian players gave a most pleasant uniqueness in just the right amount, not overbearing. Also, I especially like the various keyboard arrangements, drum beats and the full base sound of his music. I can hardly wait to play the CD again but not until I listen to the other James Last CD's I've purchased since."
