"There are some albums that require a few listens before you're even sure you really LIKE it! And there are those rare albums that you feel you have always known as you listen for the first time. I don't understand the mystery of that but it's such a joy when you discover one. I ordered this album "sight unseen" - based on a written review in a country/western book. James' voice reminds me of a cross between Elvis and Marty Robbins. Every single song on this album is either contagious or haunting. Each cut seems important. (No throwaway tracks here.) It's the kind of album that when trying to decide on your favorite cut, you say to yourself, "This one!" as the album continues through its 12 cuts. I'll be buying EVERYTHING this guy puts out."

"James has created a marvelous roots rock album with strong vintage country and rockabilly influences. It demostrates an equal and impressive facility in writing, singing and on all instruments. (James wrote, sang and played all instruments on all tracks.) This is a truly great album."

"James Intveld is the most exceptional singer/song writer I have ever heard in all my years in the Music business. His songs have such great depth and feeling I am totally suprised that he isn't a MAJOR star. James Intveld is everything that James Taylor was and also has the singing voice and courageous attitude of a young Merle Haggard or Roy Orbison or Johnny Cash. His songs are written and performed as well as any or the above mentioned "classics"."
My wife stole this one from me...

"My introduction to James Intveld came from the "LA Rockabilly" compellation that Rhino put out. I liked his stuff (and most of the stuff on that record) but kind of never gave him much thought. Years later I saw him in the Rosie Flores video for "Cryin' Over You" and bought that record due to the video and the strength of that song (and he wrote it I need to point out). Then came the movie "Crybaby" and James Intveld again. When I saw him live after that I kept an eye on his career a bit more and when this record came out I instantly liked it. His version of "Cryin' Over You" is the superior one, and every song on this one is great. So great in fact that my wife stole this from me and she wore it out. She find his voice sexy, but I think I will stay away from that one (LOL). Anyhow, good solid rocking music and an instant classic."
