CD Reviews

Something new, amazing, and ultimately refreshing.

"Jade Anderson, daughter of YES frontman Jon Anderson, is making her way to the music scene. No, she isn't rock like her dad. She isn't pop like you might hear. She is a unique and extremely astonishing blend of (some) pop, R&B, and love ballads. No, these aren't seperate for each song, they are all mixed into one melodic masterpiece (every song that is). Although she is relatively low profile at the moment, there is no doubt that with an angelic voice like hers and the beautiful songs she makes with it, that she will be huge. Her album, Dive Deeper, is in stores September 24th. For now, the single is out, the uptempo ballad, Sugarhigh.1- Sugarhigh (10/10) This song is just plain amazing. Her voice is so sweet and angelic, the lyrics flow beautifully with the song, and the instruments are so perfectly played. The great thing about this song though, is that you can consider it so many different genres. Pop? No doubt! Love ballad? Definately! R&B soulful masterpiece? Of course! I, myself, cannot stop listening to this wonderful piece of music. It's something that will get you hooked, and won't let you go till you've had your fill. Even then, you'll get hungry for more soon enough.2- Sweet Memories/Constant Talking/Forbidden Fruit/Falling Medley (9/10) This isn't so much a song as it is a preview. It is basically a medley of four of her songs from her album. It will still have you listening, however. I'll rate each song from what I've heard.A. Sweet Memories (9/10) This song is so sweet, and it's actually sad. It makes you think of your friends, and really makes you want to cherish all the memories you create with them. The full version of this has seeped out onto file sharing programs.B. Constant Talking (10/10) This song is so original! The message is a great one. It's basically about spreading rumors. The lyrics are very interesting. A preview of this can be heard on the Jade Anderson interview on ..under the video section.C. Forbidden Fruit (8/10) I like the message in this song too, but it just doesn't grab me as much as the others do. Still a GREAT song never-the-less. No previews available.D. Falling (10/10) A really sad song, I'm still not sure what it's about. I guess it's about sinking into depression. Check out a preview at the music section of ...P>The video for Sugarhigh is also available to look at on ... I HIGHLY suggest you buy this album if your a fan of pop, R&B, or ballads. She has got something for EVERYONE! She has just as much, if not more, talent as her father. And that is saying A LOT. I know I will be buying her album the DAY IT COMES OUT *before* school. So I can read the booklet during my extremely boring classes!"
