CD Reviews

This band rocks!

"even though i haven't heard all of the songs on these cd's, i have a very strong opinion about them. Rumor has it that the drummer heather was replaced with a male drummer named griff draycott. this was a smart move seeing as how two guys and two girls would be more unusual than three girls and one guy. The jackie Papers have put tampa bay on the map and we will never forget that.I'm still confused, when did they switch drummers? Its july 2000 now."

There's irony to buying "I'M NOT ON-LINE" on-line

"The Jackie Papers are three women and a guy from Tampa Bay playing quick tempo garage punk. Chris Barrows sings and writes most of the songs as well as plays guitar with Jenny Page on guitar, Heidi Flanigan on bass and girl drummer Heather Now beating the skins. "Uckfay Ouyay" speeds by fast with 11 two minute songs. They sing about being "Human Bullets," make fun of "Clowns" and trendy suburban junkies in "Addiction." I can sympathize with "6:45" because everyone hates to get up in the morning to go to work. "Hit Me Twice" is a sinister love song, with Heidi singing about making love to her masochistic lover. "I'm Not On-line" is a hilarious accusation to computer geeks who never go outside. "I'm not on-line, I'm not like you. I'm not on-line, I'd rather do a barbecue." A tasty slice of Florida punk."
