CD ReviewsOne of Jackie McLean's Best Albums 03/17/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "I only gave this four stars because of the dated 10 minute paeon to soul that was written by Grachan Moncur III of all people. Once you get past this distraction comes the rest of the album which is a free jazz masterpiece. Jackie McLean was clearly taking some lessons from 'trane and considering that he started in Miles' band in 1951 his impact on the jazz community has been tremendous. While One Step Beyond, Let Freedom Ring and Destination Out are the places to start this is one of McLean's most evolved, most sophistictated, most out there albums."
