Acclaimed by many as Jamaica's own Nat 'King' Cole, Wilfred 'Jackie' Edwards was a true founding fathers of Reggae music, first making his mark at a time when the island's record industry was still in its infancy. After scoring with a series of best-selling singles, he relocated to London where his producer and mentor, Chris Blackwell, fully utilized his talents as an accomplished vocalist and songwriter, with Edwards penning pop hits for Wayne Fontana and the Spencer Davis Group, as well as enjoying considerable success among Britain's West Indian community with his reggae sides.
