The fifth volume in an acclaimed ongoing series by the authoritative organist Jacques van Oortmerssen. This 1998 recording has been repackaged to match the complete series. In-demand as a concert recitalist worldwide, Jacques van Oortmerssen has taught organ at Amsterdam's Sweelinck Conservatory since 1979. His interpretations of Bach and early music have brought him widespread fame. Oortmerssen was a student of the legendary Marie-Claire Alain, one of the greatest organists of the twentieth century. On this recording, Jacques van Oortmerssen plays a famous Van Hagerbeer/Schnitger organ (1646/1725) at St. Laurenskerk - one of the most beautiful Baroque organs in the world. Jacques van Oortmerssen began recording the complete organ works of Bach on the most important historical organs of Europe in 1994.
