CD Reviews

One of the Best CD's I own, buy it!
Andrew Mechem | Rochester HIlls MIchigan! | 12/19/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I discovered inkwell during a lazy day on itunes. Just popping a couple 30 second previews made me go out and buy it from amazon. I have to say I can recite every word and its arguably the best cd in my collection. Its not crazy but its not conventional either. The lyrics are deep without being preachy. The sounds are unique spins on things you've heard before. Some make you want to play guitar hero and others make you want to sit and think.

Probably the best part though is how each song is its own. A lot of newer bands today, once you get past the first few they sound repetitive. Not here. While the track names may be too funny to memorize, each song is individual and you will know it by the first 5 seconds.

If you like this, check out the first cd Chaos reveals Rhyme, which to me is more fine examples of Inkwell's work. Equally good as TSAM and still nothing feels repetitive. You could listen to both cd's straight and you would realize there are indeed 20 different tracks. No instrumentals or intros, just good music all around.

The new album should be dropping soon tony hawk willing."
Easily A Top 10 cd of 2006

"I divide my Top 10 into two categories. I have a top 10 for metal/hardcore, then I have a top 10 for rock/emo/indie. This cd, is of course going in the second top 10. This band reminds me of JamisonParker. Not musically, but the fact that only two people can create such great music. Inkwell is comprised of Travis Adams and Dave Pierce. They have both been in the music business a long time and it shows on their new cd These Stars Are Monsters. I really like Rookie Of The Year, and since Inkwell and Rookie Of The Year are on the same label, it made me check out Inkwell. I remember hearing a song from this cd a while back and loving it. I couldn't wait until it came out. I bought the cd two days ago and I love it.

This is one of those cds where every track is good. And for some reason, Amazon has some errors with their tracklist and the spelling of some of the words.

Both of the members of this band come together to make a fantastic and beautiful record. The singing on this cd is just perfect. I'm always humming the catchy choruses. Everything is heard great on this cd. The guitars, the bass, the singing, and the drums are all produced and mixed perfectly. These guys are at the top of their game, and they let the listener know it on this album. This is an album full of great, catchy, pop melodies. The fantastic singing by these young gentleman will really catch your ear's attention. This is a great cd. Start to finish. Highly recommended for people who love rock and/or emo."
