Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, uses guided meditation and imagery, and body and breath awareness. Yoga Nidra practice opens the door to mental, emotional and physical healing. It assists you in achieving your personal aspirations and spiritual goals. This Yoga Nidra uses specific guided imagery and body and breath awareness techniques to heal the spine and joints and bring them back to balance and health. Yoga Nidra works by using a positive affirmation that is repeated through the practice. Yoga Nidra is a kind of sleep, where the mind hovers between consciousness and unconsciousness. The practitioner sleeps and dreams consciously. Yoga Nidra relaxes tensions that accumulate in the muscles, the emotions and the mind, allowing the practitioner to rest deeply. It is one of the easiest methods by which you can reach a state of deep meditation. You will notice results after the very first Yoga Nidra practice. You will be more calm, more peaceful. Repeated practice will deepen your peace of mind. The practice is started by lying down in a comfortable position, on the floor or the bed, with the eyes closed. The practitioner is guided through special visualizations. The visualization practice ends with images that promote healing, peace and calmness. Then the practitioner is gradually transitioned to regular consciousness. The positive affirmation is stated at the beginning and end of the practice. About Inez: Inez is a 500 hour Registered and Certified yoga therapist and Kripalu teacher. She has been teaching yoga, relaxation and meditation techniques for over 13 years. She is the author of The Magic of Zen: Pathway to Self-transformation . Inez was owner and director of In The Moment Wellness Center in Norwood Massachusetts for 9 years; she presently she teaches Yoga Nidra and yoga classes for all levels at her home studio. She has been writing Yoga Nidra scripts, and teaching Yoga Nidra classes at her center for many years. Many of her students requested that she record a Yoga Nidra so that they could practice at home as well. She has honored their request with this CD recording.
