A Breath Of Musical Fresh Air

"If you were allowed only one CD in your life then buy "High Road to Heaven" because it in itself is a whole collection of wonderful listening. The Indulgers original music is impossible to resist. From the haunting lyrics of "Haul Away" to the magic music of "The Green Isle Reel", this CD never disappoints. Chris, Pat, Damien, Renee and Mike are totally talented and passionate about their music. Enjoy the rich smooth creaminess of Damien's baritone voice, like fine Irish coffee. Listen to the bass guitar of Chris as he brings the music to life. The band plays as one and it is a crescendo of joyous sound. I defy anyone to sit still while their music plays because you will want to be a part of it. "Julia" is beautiful poetry set to melody and and the title song takes takes us along on that odyssey up that High Road. It is a poignant, eloquent, moving ride to the top. This is feel good music at its best. They have redefined Celtic Rock and it doesn't get better than this. Enjoy!"

"Forget the coffee - if you're unable to get up and get going, put this CD on and jumpstart your day. The Indulgers released their 4th CD "High Road to Heaven" and that's where we're all headed with these fabulous original songs and instrumentals. You'll feel tingly all over, your endomorphins will surge and you'll be tapping your toes and treating people more nicely too -because The Indulgers will make you feel so good! The Indulgers always deliver, but I think they've taken the "High Road" and boosted the Celtic rock genre to a new level of creativity, musicality and listening pleasure. It's all terrific - arrangements, lyrics, harmonies - set to mandolin, violin, accordian, guitars, tin whistle, electric bagipe and that always rocking drum and bass rhythm section. There's some nice surprises too including a touching patriotic ballad and the title song comes last but not least - a dreamy, romantic reverie if ever there was one, gorgeously sung and arranged. This cd is a must-have!"

"Like the previous reviewer we don't get to see the Indulgers very often as we are living in the UK. First saw them in November 2001 in Las Vegas, and were so impressed my wife and I went back the next four nights, despite the other attractions Vegas had to offer. We even returned to Sin City in April 2002 to see their next gig at the Orleans Hotel and again were not dissappointed. Eventually we hope to get to see them in Denver for a taste of them playing on home soil.
High Road To Heaven is the 4th album The Indulgers have released and is up there with the previous three. The title song for me, is a classic. One of those slow, haunting songs that once you get in your head, stays with you for days. I won't give my opinions of all the tracks, but for me the other outstanding ones are, Glen Isle Reel, Lucky Man, Julia and Out Of Line.
The trade mark "Fiddlin" by Renee is not as evident on this album but it is still feet warmin' stuff. BUY IT, or even better go see them live on stage. Either way you won't be dissapointed."
