Hard to think it's the same band...

"Listening to it right now, and I just changed it from a 4 to a 5...

For those who were inspired enough to buy In Reverent Fear's fantastic debut album "Written in the a.m.", don't expect the same kind of musical experience at all.

Exit the devastating riffs and the intense screaming, it's hard to even recognize the singer's voice (which was extremely similar to Daryl from Glassjaw). If you've listened to the previous album, you gotta expect it to turn hardcore at some point. But nope, doesn't happen here. Instead, beautiful melodies, haunting vocals, and simply great songs that will remind you of the likes of dredg, Celebrity and even Muse at times. Not every band can use trumpet and get away with it...

I was very surprised at first, maybe a bit disappointed not to find most of the elements that (to me) defined this band from Concord, CA. But after one full listen, this feeling went away pretty fast. This is a remarkable album from a band that reinvented itself.
