"First heard Ilene a few years back and couldn't get her music out of my head for weeks. I especially like A Discovery and Somebody To Do That For. She's ear candy."
INTELLIGENT, RELEVANT, AND...GASP!...ENTERTAINING!!

"Ilene Weiss is incredibly talented -- she's one of those performers who have the ability to restore your faith in human creativity. Her songwriting is some of the best on the 'contemporary folk' scene, showing great imagination and intelligence with what seems to be a natural talent for wordplay. [Warning -- if you're fortunate enough to hear her live, and perchance meet her, DON'T make the mistake of getting into a punning contest with her -- she'll slaughter you!] Her lyrics touch on all the issues you would expect -- even her songs about love relationships (how many ways can songsmiths write about them, after all...?) are in a class of their own.Her voice is one of the most beautiful instruments you'll ever hear -- but never so pure that it lacks feeling. Her sense of humor is contagious, and she's an extremely engaging performer. She can sneak a humorous line up on you with a straight face, but often she's smiling ahead of time at an upcoming zinger -- but in her case, knowing it's coming doesn't take anything away from its effect. I can honestly say that I don't have a favorite song on this cd -- they're all astonishingly good.In addition to these skills, she's a masterful, tasteful guitarist -- by her own description, 'a tool-maker, not a hunter-gatherer'. You'll have to find out what that means for yourself...and I hope you get the chance. She's an amazing performer who deserves a much wider audience. See her if you get the opportunity -- you'll never forget her."
