his time - unfortunately, his music is almost never heard today, so it's nice to have this recording - the symphonies themselves are excellent music. and the performance (on period instruments) is exemplary - done in a forceful and agressive manner that would be difficult to duplicate on modern instruments.. All in all, an excellent record - this orchestra (the L'orfeo barockorchester) should record more symphones by Holzbauer>" |
