Synopsis

Product Description
"Cool Is Just A Number" is the debut CD from I Fight Dragons, Chicago's finest (and quite possibly only) NES-Rock band. They have very detailed delusions of grandeur, most of which include gross misuses of Nintendo products in combination with music in the Popular Rock genre. This February, they sold out Chicago's Elbo Room as they released their debut EP, "Cool Is Just A Number." They use a talking computer a lot, or possibly a talking computer uses them a lot. All in all, there are 6 of them, and at least one of them is really really cool, but they haven't figured out which one yet. It's Hari. "I FIGHT DRAGONS is a High-Def concert experience influenced by an 8-bit video game dream world. They are both an audio and visual powerhouse to have at the club" -Brian Bender, Elbo Room Chicago Talent Buyer/General Manager

CD Reviews

8 Bit NES Rock never sounded so good!
Kyle Kyle "The Pirate" | Vincennes, IN USA | 04/19/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"These guys are absolutely amazing! Not only are they talented musicians, but they are talented programmers. They took NES, SNES, NES-Advantage, Powerpad controllers and made them into electronic instruments...sampling 8-bit sounds in their music! It's incredible what you can do with a passion for retro gaming and music. Before I even heard of these guys, I always enjoyed 'chiptune', but IFD takes it to the next level! With such originality, these guys are going places not just in their home area of Chicago, but all over the world. Spread the word everyone!

For those who haven't heard them, start with the some "The Faster the Treadmill"

Also, check them out on Youtube! They have a video that shows them using the instruments!"
Awesome sound!

"I Fight Dragons is a really awesome band. They have a great sound and their use of NES and SNES sounds in their music is really cool. Any nerds, gamers, comic fans, or just cool people with an open mind will enjoy them! I love their songs, "Money", "No One Likes Superman Anymore", and their cover of Jonathan Coulton's "The Future Soon" is amazing!!!

You won't be disappointed with this album!"
