Connecticut's official state troubadour (1999 & 2000) Hugh Blumenfeld brings his melodic, literate song writing style to an album about becoming a father, blending fun songs for children with reflective pieces for adults. Dave Seitz produced, adding textures of strings and brass, vocals and percussion to 'Welcome to the World,' 'Cradle Song,' and the deeply affecting 'Visitation'. HB has performed across the US, Europe and Israel. He opened Kerrville Folk Festival in 2000 and closed the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival with Ani DiFranco in 1996. He has opened for Suzanne Vega, John Mayer, Tom Rush, Richie Havens, Dar Williams, Patty Larkin, Arlo Guthrie, Iris Dement and Greg Brown. He is now a doctor practicing family medicine in Hartford.
