CD ReviewsLighthouse Reunion concert tops Dr. David Sleet | La Jolla and Atlanta (United States) | 04/05/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Some of the most prolific performers from the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach era (1960s) has assembled together for this 1991 release. Howard Rumsey, (still in good health in California) and artists like John Guerin (recently passed away) make for excellent memories of the Sunday Jazz concerts at the Lighthouse. Tunes are nicely arranged, and powerfully performed. Especially impressive is the assortment of featured players with both veterans and more contemporary members of Howard's groups. They are all here. THis CD takes you back to the good old days in Hermosa Beach. (My brother, Don Sleet, played trumpet with Lighthouse Jazz All Stars (with Jonny Guerin on drums) back in the 60s)."
