CD Reviews

Better than Boston Game

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Boston Game, a jazz quartet that plays the local Boston scene first mentioned the Howard Fishman Quartet during one of their sets. A week later I heard the Howard Fishman Quartet CD playing at Cambridge, 1, in Cambridge, MA. I was converted."
Howard's Got Game

"I first heard Howard Fishman last May 11 at Cambridge, 1 - a dive music & burgers joint on Church St. just above Harvard Sq. in Cambridge, MA. The place is an eclectic mix of students, preppies, and locals - just like HFQ, it's an old friend you relax with at the end of a long day.Fishman blends Nawlins scootin' music with a flair of swing, with a dash of soul to keep things honest -- a capping element to any serious jazz quartet lover's Game."
A new convert
John R. Hunt | Cape Cod | 01/18/2009

"My motto is "if it not Baroque - don't fix it" Many of my friends give me grief for being stuck in listening to nothing but Baroque and classical music. I do admit - I do that. When I discovered this CD I found a whole new genre of music - a blend of jazz and swing that is easy to listen too and fun. It made me realize that the world of jazz is as complex and colorful as the world of classical music. Many hours of pleasure will come from this CD and an opening to this new musical world is most appreciated...Thanks to the Howard Fishman Quartet..."
