Terrific start for Jarrod Gorrbel's band entity

"Songwriters are used to being worshiped, but the truth is that it's just as important how you perform your songs. Good artists know this and the Honorary Title's eponymous debut exudes this. Gorrbel's vocal delivery is a slightly aquired taste, but isn't every emo frontman? His inflections suggest a punk with a soft heart that started listening alternative country records when he was on the road. The songs feel like their contents have been lived, and aren't overwrought, or struggling to find inspiration like some of this music tends to be. On my first listen, I thought that as the EP progresses that the song quality was getting better, but as I listened to it again, I found that I was just getting used to his voice and if you have the patience, you will like it too. Who is this music for? It's for people who don't care to always hear nitpicky perffectionism in performance, or a mainstreamed lyrical sensibilty. This music is like a music box standard. Sometimes the music comes out smoothly, sometimes slowly and blotchy etc., and that's it's charm. It's not trying to impress you, it simply exists. Maybe someday a perfectionist will stumble across this music and decide that they want to touch it up, but they'll end up ruining the best part of this music: the human flaws."
Quite possibly one of the most unique bands... in a great wa

"Like everyone else who has ever heard of The Honorary Title, I stumbled across their music. Now I can't stop listening to them. Dilute has to be one of the best songs I have ever heard. Bravo, Bravo!"

"awesome album!! Singer Jarrod Gorbel has an awesome voice, soft whisper to a raspy wail. great live, but listening to the album one will find it hard to restrict it anyone genre. It would be best described as anti-folk with indie rock undertones..as if anyone call fully describe indie-rock, in all its wonder you would be safe to say it's rock and roll. personal lyrics with jarrod's voice it's purely...beautifullllll. saw him playing solo w/him and his guitar but in this album the sound is enriched with other instruments....buy it now..if you like it look out for 'The Honorary Title" new album expected out sometime in June or July '04"
