"Homesick For Space(HFS) delivers a unique sound remeniscent of earlier Radiohead stylings with a more piano base to it. The vocal harmonies are amazing and progress perfectly with the many guitar parts throughout the CD. The best part of this album is by far the drumming. With almost offbeat patterns the drums set the pace for the entire CD, slowing it down to almost a complete stop sometime, just tpo build it back up to a choir of muscial talent. One can not overlook the jazziness influence of the drums that all the more makes HFS a more unique band. A+"

"This CD is full of vitality, originality, and poetry. The band is a favorite of New Yorkers who have followed its development into a lyrical and melodic powerhouse. Listen carefully to "Oh, How You Shine," a song meaningful in the deep recesses of any heart that has suffered loss. "Unison" is a comforting and compelling title song. "Drop Your Mask"is pure. These guys are something else - poets in a void. Treat yourself to the best of the next generation."

"This is a sublime album for a number of reasons. The production of the album is relatively desolate, like it's being set in a post-apocalyptic world (kind of like if you've ever seen the movie _Eraserhead_, that's the feel it gives.), except, instead of it being cloudy and damp, it's sunny and vibrant so the listener is never allowed to sink _too_] deep. This is pulled off by the singers high crooning lines through the album, with his pitch rarely varying. It's droning but it fits the production value of the album very well. The same goes for the background singers, they all carry this sort of ethereal, foggy, for a mental image, and droning timbre. Which is a direct opposite to the music on the album, uplifting guitar passages with deep bass lines and quite solid, playful drumming. It's interesting to see how these styles of music coexist to create the feeling I described a few sentences earlier.
Which leads me into my next comment--the album allows the listener to choose their mood for the duration of it. It's like a choose your own adventure story, if you're bummed out then the album is going to keep you in that state, it probably isn't going to pull you out of it (it might, if you're willing), but, if you are in a great mood then it's going to feel like the dreamiest pop album you ever heard, with your mind drifting and swaying through each of the 11 songs. It's really a hard album to write about because it has such a unique sound, and it's also one of the most fascinating to listen to because of that unique sound. The only way to truly understand it is to experience it. Whether it's in a dark room, late at night, or on a porch at sunset, or in a bedroom with headphones, or in a field, or wherever, it's going to suit that situation. It's flexible, bending as far as your imagination will allow it to. Homesick for Space _Unison_. Try it out... give it 45 minutes of your time. You might not come out the same person."

"this album, and just this band in general, are one of those truly great undiscovered creations. i never got the chance to see them live, but their first ep, unison, and now please continue, which is available through snocap on their myspace page, are all unbelievable albums. they're masters of atmosphere and vocal harmonies, and they never wrote a bad song. it makes me sad that they're not still together and touring, i would love to see them live. i guess the few people that seem to listen to them have to really appreciate the fact that we know of this band, because they're not just a random band with one good song - they're a band that very few people have heard of that wrote albums worth of beautiful material, and i will always listen to them."
