CD Reviews

Great Electronica CD-an IMPORT worth the price!
Dan E. Ross | Frisco, Tx USA | 02/27/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"... It technically falls into the "Electronica" genre of music and this CD is a compilation of artists that have appeared at Homelands. It is a limited edition and has some great stuff on it. It includes the Chemical Brothers Unreleased 'Out of Control' Sasha Remix, tracks by Hybrid, Basement Jaxx, Paul Van Dyk, Kraftwerk Art of Noise, Bedrock, The Orb, etc. This CD successfully avoids the curse of a lot of dance/electronica compilations of having a profane rap song thrown somewhere in the mix just to be "inclusive". When I buy a techno, trip hop or trace CD I like to get bang for the buck. Basically, I like to buy an album that has tons of great songs for a good price. At the end of the day (1) Does it provide you with social value (2) Does it provide some emotional connection or (3) Does it change your state of mind?...Two other great Trance/techno CDs I have that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND (there are others that I don't think are as good on a bang for buck basis) are BT Movement in Still Life & Chicane's Behind the Sun album..."
