Welcome back

"The Holy Moses reunion was somewhat unexpected to me, since Sabina was apparently busy with her band Temple Of The Absurd. Also, being familiar with the band's legacy I wasn't sure what to expect from this MCD, and I was more or less was prepared to hear old school thrash/death in the vein of "Terminal Terror". Besides, Temple... was pretty much a death metal outfit, although on experimental side, so I was (pleasantly) surprised to hear pure German thrash in the vein of glorious and chaotic mid-80s. If the comparison to be made, this release stands closest to their "Finished With the Dogs" with infinitely better production, original arrangement and driving songs. What I always liked about this band is almost animal energy permeating their songs characteristic of the early thrash metal, which most of the bands have lost by the beginning of the 90s. This album continues to deliver the adrenalin-charged chaotic goods; check out "Taste my Blood" which is played with insane speed, and "The hand of Death" for a memorable and explosive tune which is sure to raise the dead from a grave (speak about puns). The arrangement deserves a honorble mention. The songs dynamically flow one into another and the whole 5-song affair zooms along like a single act speed metal movie; the songs however, a quite diverse and each one is a character. Sabina's vocal undergone some changes, on some tracks she does sound like a woman (very angry though). This is the album for those who likes their thrash metal raw, chaotic, angry, and done right."
Back to their roots go Holy Moses

"Sabina Classen and Holy Moses are back for the attack with their 9th CD. This five tune MCD gives the listener a taste of classic 80s style thrash that Holy Moses was known for. This German band has been out of action since 1994, but they have returned to once again thrash you to death! Important, don't expect death metal style on this release, just solid thrash with Sabina's unmistakable vocals. Best tune is "Down On Your Knees"."
