This 11-track debut was recorded in Hoggboy?s native Sheffield with legendary producer Chris Thomas (Sex Pistols, Pulp, Beatles) and fellow Sheffield dweller Richard Hawley. Formed just over 18 months ago after a chance meeting on the top deck of the 53 bus in Sheffield, Hoggboy put out their debut Richard Hawley-produced single, So Young, to critical acclaim in January of 2002. The cover photo was taken during their last trip to New York, when the band played the legendary Mercury Lounge with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Liars. Or 8? is packed full of songs made with excitement by a band fuelled on lager and Embassy number 1?s. As if the New York Dolls and Sex Pistols never existed, Hoggboy are the antidote to careerist rock.
