CD Reviews

Fantastic CD!

"After hearing song samples on CDBaby.com, in a very uncharacteristic move I paid full-price for a CD from an unfamiliar band. The impulse was definitely worth it though as this is a wonderful CD! For the last several months it has been one of my favorite CDs to keep handy -- fantastic for when I need a pick-me-up or want to jam for a while. The music is light-hearted funky party music, with strong influences from Earth, Wind & Fire and George Clinton (among others). I give this CD the highest compliment I can give any CD -- a compliment given only to a handful of recordings in my whole lifetime -- which is that I don't skip past any of the tracks. Very highly recommended!!"
They Don't Play...They Cook

"Like many of their new fans I heard them play for the first time on the Bob and Tom show a couple weeks ago. I basically looked at this for a couple of songs played on the show, but was amazed at many that were not. The very first song "Tip Toe" is so good that it's hard to believe it hasn't found its way to number one on the charts at some point. It's one of those songs that you just never seem to tire of because it has such great arrangement.

Here Comes The Mummies has a couple things that's been missing in a lot of music for some time...A wealth of A class musicians, and a variety of genres in the mix. You can say they sound like some funk and soul, rock and country, and also a mix of a bit of the cleaverness and humor of Zappa. Without hesitation I can say this definately one of my top ten.

As for the the entire CD....This is one of those recordings that initially I had some favorites, but not much interest in the other tunes. Then after playing it several times all the tracks seemed very good. If you liked any of the songs you heard on B&T then you really should give this a try"
