CD Reviews

The perfect mix...
05/19/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Hellbent, a collaboration between Haloblack, 16Volt, Thrill Kill Kult, and Chemlab. When four revolutionary industrial bands decide to join forces there's only one result...the perfect mix.Through the tight, fuzzy, guitar samples and electronics protrudes the intoxicating percussion rythms. The influence of Chemlab is apparent, but without the distorted vocals that's almost a trademark of the Chemlab foundation. The vocals are kept at a mesmerizing state, touching emotions that will put goose-bumps on your cranium, and fit nicely within the intelligent bass lines. It's obvious that each track was created with thought. Enough can't be said for the electronic effects. Variety is the name of the game with this episode, leaving no shrapnel unturned. Hellbent will set your free."
Excellent

"This CD is incredible. One can really hear a little of each person contributing, although the strongest influence, to me, seems to be Bryan Black (hALObLACK). It has a very minimalistic sound, with light guitars and quiet vocals. And if you like it, check out the newer one on Re-Constriction, called Helium. It's got a few songs off 0.01, plus some NEW tracks!"
