Great Tombone jazz

"Elegant, effortless; playing off each other the artists provide a great jazz album. Skylark is terrific; an album to sit back with a glass of McCallan, or any other single malt beverage, and enjoy terrific jazz with accomplished musicians. The trombone, like Gerry mullligan's baritone sax, is an elegant instument in the hands of pros like Adler and Wycliff. Enjoy."

"I was blown away by this CD. As a 'bone hack, I found it to be jaw-dropping...Allred and Gordon have terrific range, pleasuring the listener with material shifting between dazzling hi-speed mechanics to some of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard from the trombone. Their end note tremolos, esp. on "Creole Love Song," are subtle, perfect and oh so satisfying. Even my wife, who does not share my trombone passion, said, "Wow, that music is REALLY good!" the first time I played the CD. Highly, highly recommend this CD for enthusiasts of any type of music...it's exciting to hear the quality of these rising stars in jazz!"

"i always liked wycliffe but had never heard of john allred before. i am not one for great platitudes but this is without doubt the best album i have ever heard of any type of music. the horn players are equally matched ability wise and creatively. normally on cds there are tracks you like and some you dont - this one ALL the tracks are superb. buy it and see what i mean. do these guys ever tour and if so, anyone know when cos i will be there"
