"When the Hawks arrived in the early 80s they were a great band with solid writing and playing. If you own their first two albums on vinyl here's a chance to get the rest of the tunes they recorded around that time and before Columbia gave them the boot. Many of the songs here appeared on a cassette only release entitled Hawks III on the Junior's Motel label. There are only 3 songs from that release that are not here plus Not Lame threw in 2 songs from their first Columbia release Hawks. If you've never heard this band and if you like guitar oriented pop/rock with solid vocals and a hint of the British Invasion sound you'll enjoy this collection. Jangly guitar rock with a bit of sheen, these guys have been doing this kind of music since the late 60s when Frank and Kirk were in West Minist'r - Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductees and north central Iowa favorites. The Beatles, Byrds, Who and others come to mind. Take a listen, you won't regret it."
