"Havin' A Ball" features jazz vocalist Harry Schulz in his first recording. The band behind him is really more a band that is "with" him, they all seem to be inspired by each other. Guitarist Andy Fite plays beautifully behind Schulz's solos, they are obviously inspired by those great old tracks of Billie Holiday and Lester Young that were made for Columbia in the '30's. Scott Yanow, the editor of the "All Music Guide to Jazz" said succinctly, "Schulz's feeling is infectious and so are his lyrics." The cd includes three original songs by Schulz and Fite.
