"Dudes. The stored song samples are not from Harleigh Cole! Check out the real disk please. Oh, I liked the disk."
A musical landscape
Loron Hays | Kansas | 09/24/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Taking a cue from the funk fusion efforts of Herbie Hancock, the synth-strengths of Stevie Wonder, and the elegance of Miles Davis; Harleigh Cole and his All Conquering Warrior Band ignite in what is possibly the best mix of smooth jazz with honest soul ever heard. The tracks are not Kenny G cheese. They are deeply rooted with respect and love to all those who came before. Excellent, not a bad track in the set. If you like peace!love!and soul! in your music, you should check this out."
The most innovative record of the decade
Loron Hays | 04/22/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Harleigh Cole's jazz-funk hybrid includes elements from around the globe to give this debut a multi-layered, sensual, and awe-inspiring sound. The songs all tell a story, and each flows into the next flawlessly. Although the songs are obviously linked by the same theme, each takes you on a different journey. Cole has integrated environmental sounds into the songs in such a natural way, they take on the roles of other instruments. The best tracks are "Together Again For the First Time" and "Cookie" because of their strong emotional appeal. One is not just listening to these songs; one is living them. Both are complete perfection. This CD has everything you'd want to listen to, from gorgeous melodies and hard grooves to improvised jams and sublime poetry. It is the ultimate listening experience!"
