Handel with heart!

"If you like rushed tempi and scruffy sounding period-instrument recordings then this is NOT for you. If you love the rich sound of the Berlin Philharmonic strings you will love this as I do! I had this music once on reel-to-reel and am delighted that DGG believed in this recording like I do and released it on CDs. And Herbert von Karajan does play harpsichord (continuo) in several tracks. This IS a very romantic, lush version and one that is VERY musical and I think if Handel could hear it compared to the scruffy period-instrument recordings this one WOULD win his heart, like it did mine!"
