Hal was the first musician Glenn Miller hired for his band back in 1937, and four years later, when McIntyre decided to go out on his own, Glenn bankrolled him, confident that his alto sax mastery would translate into success. Which it sure did, and this May 8, 1946 captures the band at its peak, back from touring our military bases in Europe, with vocals by Frankie Lester, Johnny Turnbull and Nancy Reed.
