A Pleasant Distraction

"This album is pretty nice. "Hot Pants" is great, a song that makes you laugh while the music stirs and grooves (the situation it describes is hilariously pedestrian, but the chords carry an air of gravity that leads to an overall sense of comic irreverence). The first two tracks especially are very, very catchy and will stick in your head for days. The music, however, is limited by the group's clear desire to be seen as a "pub band." Choruses are screamed almost every track out, and the group lacks depth to a fault. Still, album can be a lot of fun at the local sports bar with a blonde on your arm and a cold brew in your hand. Best yet, you don't have to be a member of a frat to appreciate the musical harmonies."
