CD Reviews

Brilliant album.
William F. Leffert | 08/29/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Guy Forsyth is one of those artists that pretty much anybody can respect, because he has talent all across the board. Songwriting, performing, lyrics (this is one of the few albums I own where I REALLY love the lyrics), etc. The interesting part about this album is how it spans so much ground genre wise; I came to this album a fan of his delta blues style works (which I found through Pandora radio), and didn't expect so much interesting stuff.

Son House fans can enjoy "Don't You Mind People Grinnin'", knowing that it was approached by someone with not only talent, but soul."
Unusual and Rewarding

"I had not heard of Mr. Forsyth before I saw him live. It was one of the best live shows I've ever seen, and I've been to more than a few. The music on this album covers so much musical territory that it is hard to categorize. I would call it it good old-fashioned rock-and-roll, with a blues flavor, a touch of country, and, sometimes, a dash of punk thrown in, all played by a guy who obviously loves what he's doing. My 4-year old daughter fell in love with the music at the show, and talked about it for weeks. If you get a chance to see this guy live, take it."
Excellent remake

"Guy Forsyth re-recorded the fantastic "Can you live without" from 1999, a record that isn't available for a while. That album was my favourite Forsyth for a long time, but this one overclasses the original.

The songs came out more organic as the whole record is played with his live band and some well selected guests."
