CD Reviews

Refreshing!
12/20/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is an unusual compilation, containing live versions of some of her million sellers and live radio recordings never released before. An excellent job throughout. It's even nice to hear the live versions of her hits devoid of the studio additives. INFATUATION is actually DO YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU KISS ME, a popular tune from her Italian Favorites album and a regular in her night club act. I HAVE DREAMED, GOD BLESS AMERICA, LOVER COME BACK TO ME are among my favorites. A young, powerful Connie Francis!"
RARE CONNIE

"This painstaking recorded UK release is culled from those old 16" DJ platters that required a special phonograph and from the National Guard never heard unless you were around at the time they were released. This CD contains two shows, one live (in front of thousands of appreciative young guardsmen) and a Bob Crosby radio program. Several of the songs are her hits--these are 1959 recordings, however they are all rare and never put to regular vinyl or CD until ON GUARD was released. It contains intros and conversations including Don Wilson from Jack Benny fame. This is one of the most interesting CDs in the Connie Francis library and a must. It's out of print, there was a condensed New Zealand counterpart that was once available "Who's Sorry Now". This is the rarest Connie Francis to date and well worth the going price. On Guard! Get ready for Connie!"
