CD Reviews

Great!

"I love this CD!! I finally got the oppurtunity to get "Knucklehead" on CD, which is a highly sampled song. All of the big favorites are on here. Of course, with Grover having so many wonderful hits, it will miss some...BUT the original songs in their unbutchered state are present and accounted for!! Mr. Magic, It Feels So Good, Knucklehead, Do Dat and A Secret Place are some of his biggest hits on here!! This is an excellent purchase if you are beginning a Grover Washington, Jr. collection!!"
Some Good Groovin Tunes

"Grover Washington Jr. could should play a smooth yet grooving saxaphone. This compilation features several stretched out jams such as Mister Magic, Inner City Blues, Knucklhead, and It Feels So Good. There is a good balance between smooth jazz numbers and some dancing R & B. Somehow I prefer the overlooked CD Strawberry Moon as those tunes have more focus. Nonetheless, this CD has a fine collection of songs that will please R &B and Jazz fans."
Know what? It feels so good...

"...some of the late Grover's early and trademark cuts from his Rudy Van Gelder/CTI/Bob James-y/Motown years sound ever so good in this 20th Century Millenium collection. I've found a lot of these 20th Cent. CD's lacking, but not this one. First, all of Grover's jams here have been digitally remixed. Por ehemplay, guitar runs you've never noticed before come right 'atcha in the forefront...plus, my favorite Grover jam, "Knucklehead"--in it's full seven minutes and then some seconds glory--is included. Bravo! Provissimo! (Now. Where's "The Sea Lion"?) Finally, how can you beat this much good music for the price? This, you'll love. I guarantee."
