Synopsis

Product Description
First time ever on CD for this legendary 1977 album from Greg Perry.  After writing and producing a string of hits in the early '70s, including the #1 Want Ads, Perry began to concentrate on a solo career.  After one critically acclaimed release on Casablanca, he recorded Smokin' for RCA.  Comprising mainly modern soul cuts with a hint of southern influence, the original of How's Your Love Life, Baby? went on to be a hit when covered by Jackie Moore and Eddie Kendricks.  Shortly after the release of Smokin', Elvis Presley died and all of RCA's time was taken up with Presley's product.  Perry asked for a release from his contract and was let go.  Original copies of this album are almost impossible to find and command high prices on Ebay.  It's the perfect example of a classic '70s soul masterpiece, without interruptions from the then prevalent 'disco sound'.
