Good, modern Romanian gypsy music in the traditional style

"Don't let the egotistical title turn you off... it is close to the truth. An example of a living tradition-- stylistically, Romanian gypsy music, but no museum-piece musicologist recording. Most enjoyable. I was introduced to this album by a friend in Paris who studies Romanian and other South Slavic music. Musicianship and interpretation are excellent; recording quality good. Relatively easy on western ears. If you are interested in Gypsy music, South Slavic music or world music in general, very highly recommended."
Perhaps the title is true?

"This puts all those supposed "Gipsy Things" to shame. Here is a raw, rootsy, rough voiced artist who presents genuine Romani "blues" without a hint of pandering to the current fads. If not the greatest, he's so close as to not matter. Sometimes the hyperbole is true!"
