"For some reason, this project never really caught fire. The buying public must have felt the same way, because this CD didn't sell nearly as well as GEMC's first. The performances seem to go on a little longer than necessary, the vocals are a little rougher (even Karen Clark sounds worn on this one -- can you believe THAT!), and the material is just not up to Michael Brooks' usual high standard. Perhaps the choir was rushed into making this one by their label (the now-defunct CGI Records), I don't know...but for whatever reason, the end result is just average."Honor His Name" is not a waste of money by any means; but if you REALLY want to hear the Greater Emmanuel Mass Choir at their sho' nuff best, you'll want to check out "The Sun Will Shine Again." That CD is the one you need by this solid choir who is long overdue for another album."
