Rockwell | Brooklyn, NY USA | 09/13/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "If I had not have read about Bacewicz in the Rough Guide I would never have heard about her. The music in this disc truly belongs in every classical lovers collection as part of the basic repertoire. According to the notes Bacewicz was a virtuostic player on violin and piano. All of these pieces are breathtaking showstoppers with a sweet lyricism that is always present and brought tears to my eyes.
There is something so special about this music that I wish there were more of her works recorded." |
