"Grant Green's sweet and economical playing are in top form on this CD. A great intro record to the latin beat, this one swings from beginning to end. More than any other record in my collection, this one garners the most "Who is this?" comments. If you can only buy one Grant Green CD, this is the one."

Not the usual Grant Green

"I would not recommend this as the first Green album to be purchased as the album's upbeat, "perky" vibe is somewhat of an anomaly for green. It does, however, contain some exellent music that is truly unique and very enjoyable. Some great solos throughout, this record is worthwhile if only for the chance to hear Green in an unusual (and very cool) context."

"This is nice, but it's not where I would start out if I wanted an introduction to Grant Green. For that, I would get Idle Moments--a recording that shot into my top 10 the instant I heard it and is a must have for any decent jazz collection. The music here is solid and quite enjoyable, but overall doesn't stretch musically. There are, of course, some nice solos from Green. This CD is for those who really want to get to know Green's music on a broader level."
