CD Reviews

Very Strong Golden Earring Live Album
D. schwanz | Hood River, OR United States | 12/06/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This album was only released in Europe and is the best Golden Earring electric Live Album aside from the the outstanding acoustic Naked series. Caputures the band quite well during the Cut era. For Radar Love fans, Golden Earring goes quite over the top at 9'35"."
Best Live LP Ever!

"To correct the other review here, this album was released in the USA in 1984. I remember getting the LP for my birthday that year and WOW! This was a great Live album. It goes with the long out of print video "Live From The Twilight Zone" as everything was takin from that. On this CD release there are extra songs from the concert on it than what was on the US album. Only downfall of this I will say is how they censor "Long Blond Animal" when Barry Hay does his classic wise .../comedy story line in the middle by blanking out the "F" word which kinda ruins it. But I will say, if your a GE fan and never checked out any live material cause you don't like Live albums..niether do I, but I will say that GE is the only band I think is just as good if not better on some tracks live than the original studio recordings! Also, this album contains the studio recorded song "Something Heavy Going Down" which was the new track and single recorded for this LP at the time. It flopped here in the USA but I think it's one of their best songs aside from "Twilight Zone" in the 80's era! All I can say is, this is my faveorite live album of all time and well worth getting through an import to own it on CD!"
