"This band is awesome. I don't like Uriah Heep (keyboardist Ken Hensley formed Heep right after The Gods disbanded), but the sonority of the two bands is pretty different. They played a marvelling mix of psychedelia, blues, hard rock and progressive music. And, the best of all: the previous two singles are presented here: "Baby's Rich"/"Somewhere In The Street" and "Hey Bulldog"/"Real Love Guaranteed". Buy it and play at the maximum volume."

"I purchased this because I am a huge "Mark I", Uriah Heep fan; personally, I feel Ken Hensley was the heart and soul of the original band. When I came across this album and read Ken Hensley was in the band, The Gods, it was a no brainer purchase. However, I did not expcet much from the music. Boy was I wrong. This album is a great blend of late 60's British blues, "psych", hard rock and even soul; Hensley's ultra-heavy Hammond organ right up there in the mix. Uriah Heep and future Ozzy drummer Lee Kerslake also is in the band. Add four bonus tracks and you have great sounding, long lost gem for any Uriah Heep fan.

I highly recommend this album.

Add This To Your 60's CD Collection Fast!

"This album is an excellent piece of British psychedelia. An original VG+/NM 1968 UK stereo pressing on EMI/Columbia will run you over $400.00. This CD really grew on me fast with some wonderful melodies and catchy arrangements that really stick in your head like, "Farthing Man", the hard acid rock of "Misleading Colours" and the breathtaking "I Never Know". Nice two part vocal harmonies that are soulful at times, decent Hammond organ and Mellotron work from a young Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep) and the guitar work is not too shabby either with some nice bluesy leads and overdriven guitar tone to die for that give The Gods a somewhat heavy sound. Weird sound effects like in the "other room" in Pink Floyd's "Bike" try to simulate a psychedelic DMT dimension with little creatures (maybe Gnomes) speaking in, for lack of a better word, computerized-like voices and geometric shapes that segue into most of the songs. The album has a tight production for a debut and is highly recommended. Sound quality on this import CD reissue is superb and sounds like it was remastered from the original analog studio tapes. The 4 bonus tracks are very good too taken from their 45rpm singles I believe. Play it loud!"
