CD Reviews

Jaw-droppingly amazing;if you like Estadasphere/SC3-GET THIS

"First off,I'm not a fan of classical musical traditions that tend to lose integrity when paired by American pop music forms, but for stuff like GOS I can definitely make an exception! Shamisan music interlaced with technical death metal,reggae,electronica,funk,etc.--it must be heard to be believed. Shamisan adds such an interesting contrast to the music, either as background ambiance or at the forefront. The last track especially solidifies it's awesomeness as it builds up and then strides back into the same refrain as in the first song to bring the album full-circle!It's great when you have high expectations for an album and after the first minute of listening you know that the musicians: know their instruments, are having fun playing the music, and know the level that they must perform at in order for the listener to be made into a believer."

"I picked this up as a recommendation from a friend of mine and he really talked it up and has excellent taste so I had to get it. Reptile Records puts out good stuff, I have one of their others, Hematovore and it stomps. This is a trip, it's instrumental psyche/kraut/improv/rock with the main instrument being the Japanese Shamisen guitar (like a lute). I haven't gotten to dive too far into this album yet, but I like it so far and recommend it to anyone looking for trippy creative stuff, especially fans of avant garde stuff like Circle, most kraut stuff new and old,Japanese underground expt stuff, and on that note Acid Mothers Temple. I'm surprised that AMT hadn't done this yet, but they might have and I just haven't heard it becuase I buy most of their heavy stuff."
Awesome!
