Synopsis

Album Description
Glossary, the pride of Tennessee, returns with For What I Don?t Become, sonic snapshots of life in the south, in all of its cognitive dissonance. Within this context of confl ict and contradiction, songwriter Joey Kneiser spins tales of grace, love, and forgiveness. Much like 2003?s How We Handle Our Midnights, Become teems with full-tilt rockers that capture the energy and passion of the band?s incendiary live set. Glossary?s music is at once poignant and powerful, running the gamut from scorching barnburners to wistful ballads. Engineered and mixed at Echo Lab by Centro-matic?s Matt Pence, For What I Don?t Become is a focused, mature record that marks a defi nitive point in the band?s stylistic evolution, with songs that land a sucker punch to the gut and follow it with a long, slow kiss.

Don't Hesitate for a Second
Gumbleton Carlson | Fairfax, VA | 09/29/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If I walked out of the studio and a few days later I listened to this as my new album, I'd be booking 365 gigs immediately. It is so good that people everywhere need to hear it. I am really excited to have found a band that has a solid and believable voice. There is no posturing here, just genuine American originals. The crew at Undertow must be pleased to have Glossary in the lineup, and rightly so.

I hate to play the comparison game, but if you dig the Drive-by Truckers, Frog Holler, the Bottle Rockets, Centro-Matic, Anders Parker, or Son Volt... you get the idea."
