"I had heard of Glenda Lynn while I was at the Houston Rodeo.Everywhere around the rodeo, you could hear people talking about herand how good she was, etc. We just had to find out for ouselves. Believe me, she is Fantastic! I just know...that everyone else will love her work as much as we do."
Traditional country with contemporary edge

"I seem to remember a time when Glenda Lynn was touted as a possible future star of country music, but for whatever reason (and its not obvious to me), it never happened. Glenda has a lovely voice, equally capable of up-tempo songs and ballads.Among the songs here, the only one I was already familiar with was Blue baby blue, one of three on this album co-written by Randy Van Warmer (best known for Just when I needed you most). I first heard Blue baby blue on Lynn Anderson's final Columbia album, Even cowgirls get the blues, released in 1980. While the remaining songs are otherwise unfamiliar to me, I cannot be sure they are all originals.Picking highlights is not easy on an album of this quality, but You fool, I will if you will let me and Till a memory comes along are outstanding ballads, while I always dream of Texas features Dan Seals singing harmony. Dan was one half of the pop duo England and John Ford Coley in the seventies and a successful solo country singer in the eighties. There are some very smart women around and Glenda is surely among them but the opening track, The woman is smarter, is the sort of song I like to chuckle at - a great song, but not to be taken too seriously.

Purists who cannot accept anything that sounds modern will not appreciate this album, but it owes more to traditional country than most contemporary country. Glenda is one of many talented country singers who never made the big time. This is the second of two brilliant albums recorded by the still-young Glenda - the first was Blue roses. I cannot find evidence of any more to come, but I'll keep hoping."

"The woman has got herself a bunch of incredible songs to back her sweet and gutsy country voice. "The Woman Is Smarter" is bound to turn a few heads with it's bold statement and infectious beat. Likewise, the pure song writing skill of Randy VanWarmer and Pat Terry's "Don't Rush Me" porvides a fine forum for savoring Glenda's vocals, as well. An intriguing vocalist backed by outstanding writers, the way it's meant to be."
