"Gisele MacKenzie had only one big hit in the 1950s: "Hard to Get" (a song included on this CD). But as a vocalist on the TV series, "Your Hit Parade," she got a lot of experience singing songs that other people made famous, and this CD contains a lot of well-known songs done in Gisele's own style. She can handle a wide variety of songs of different types, and it shows here.



She deserves to be a lot better known than she is, because she had an excellent voice and a good talent for interpreting the songs in her own very pleasant style. This CD is worth buying by anyone who enjoys the mosic of the 1950s or traditional pop music in general. I thoroughly enjoyed it.



Most of the songs are sung in English, but there are two done in French as a nod to her French-Canadian background: "Le Fiacre" (a song which was a very minor hit for her) and "Gigi" (the first time I've ever heard this song in French!)



Again: if you like traditional pop music and/or 1950s music, buy this CD!"
